ioby helps neighbors grow and implement great ideas one block at a time. We believe it should be easy to make meaningful change “in our backyards”—the positive opposite of NIMBY. Neighbors nationwide have raised over $15 million on ioby for projects that make their communities healthier, greener, safer, and more livable. When you post a project on ioby you can collect tax deductible donations, find new donors and volunteers, and receive one-on-one fundraising coaching.

ioby also offers match funding opportunities throughout the year. When you participate in an ioby match program, we’ll double donations in real-time as you fundraise! So when someone donates $20 to your campaign, it will instantly be turned into $40. Match funding can be a great way to accelerate your crowdfunding campaign and make your fundraising work go twice as far.

Thriving Communities Programs:
The Thriving Communities Program is under a United States Department of Transportation program that helps communities across the country with technical assistance to grow long-term capacity, identify funding opportunities, and support placemaking and transportation projects that strengthen community. As part of this program, several cities are working with ioby for community-led placemaking projects through crowdfunding match programs.

Detroit Match Program
Our ioby community is full of helpers. Neighborhood leaders, unofficial mayors of the block, people like you who want to step up to do what’s right, lend a hand and make positive local change in your neighborhoods. Up to $2,000 in donations will be matched for the community projects led by Detroiters, for Detroiters.

NYC Green Fund Crowdfunding Challenge
The NYC Green Fund Crowdfunding Challenge is back to support projects that enhance or maintain NYC’s green spaces and foster community engagement through these initiatives. The application must be submitted by a group or organization with proven experience in working within NYC’s parks, playgrounds, green streets, community gardens, and other public green spaces.
